Afternoon tea is served at Hotel Diplomat Stockholm

Take your afternoon tea in the T/BAR at the Hotel Diplomat Stockholm.  Guests can indulge in oysters, caviar and Cristal champagne. What a great way to spend the afternoon, celebrate a business deal or enjoy some romance.

To book this royal experience, contact the Head Waiter at the hotel.

The Hotel Diplomat Stockholm is more than 100 years old, dating back to 1907.  It overlooks the water and the magnificent seafront of the Swedish capital, just a stone’s throw from the liveliest and most vibrant locations in Stockholm for business, entertainment and shopping.

In recent years, the hotel has undergone a comprehensive but sensitive refurbishment and redesign. The person behind the design of the rooms and the furniture is one of Sweden’s most internationally renowned architects, Per Oberg. His focus has been on retaining the building’s attractive period features and combining them with beautiful, light Scandinavian design.

Take a private tour of the royal gardens at Highgrove

The Ritz London and Highgrove have joined together to create a unique residential programme to offer Ritz guests a private tour of the magnificent gardens at Highgrove.

Located in Gloucestershire, Highgrove is the private residence of Their Royal Highnesses The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall. Since 1980 HRH The Prince of Wales has worked to create one of the most imaginative and inspired gardens of our time. Adhering strictly to the organic principles that His Royal Highness so passionately believes in, the Gardens at Highgrove clearly demonstrate his belief in sustainable methods, encouraging both plants and wildlife to thrive in a very natural environment. The Gardens are a series of interlinked spaces, each with their own character and purpose. Weaving magically around the House they respond to the seasons by ever changing colour and texture.

The Ritz has a long standing association with HRH The Prince of Wales and in 2002 was the first hotel in the world to be awarded a Royal Warrant by His Royal Highness.

On Sunday 26th May 2013, guests are welcome to arrive at The Ritz at their leisure and to settle in to the sumptuous surroundings of the famous hotel. In the evening guests can enjoy a memorable dining experience in the Ritz Restaurant where Executive Chef John Williams will demonstrate his artisanal culinary skills with a special set menu that will showcase the finest British seasonal ingredients and celebrate The Ritz's classic Escoffier-influenced haute cuisine. Following dinner guests are welcome to retire to their room and be enveloped by the distinguished Louis XVI décor and calmly drift away in regal comfort. After a night of silent sleep guests will arise the next morning with a spring in their step and bound to the Ritz Restaurant for a full English breakfast or alternatively revel in a slower pace of life and enjoy breakfast in the comfort of their room.

After breakfast guests will depart The Ritz and enjoy a leisurely two hour journey, westward, during which light refreshments will be served. Upon arrival at Highgrove, where Ritz guests will be the only visitors granted exclusive access on the day, luncheon will be served in The Orchard Room - a beautiful building in the grounds of Highgrove set amidst the magical gardens that weave around the house. Following lunch guests will depart in small groups and enjoy an intimate tour of the gardens led by one of HRH's garden guides who will be able to relay the history and identify at will the vivid varieties of flora that abound throughout the thriving grounds. At the end of the tour The Highgrove Gift Shop will be opened exclusively for The Ritz party. Upon return to The Ritz our staff will be waiting to welcome our guests 'home' and to charge their glasses with chilled Ritz Champagne to enjoy at a special reception in the architecturally magnificent William Kent House or, if the British spring weather is kind then the party will be, al fresco in The Ritz Garden.

The Ritz London offers a gilded and glamorous abode for our guests whilst during May Britain will be in bloom and awash with golden sunshine meaning there is no better time nor any other opportunity to 'Hightail it to Highgrove' in such style.

Prices from £2,540 for two people sharing a twin or double room.
