Strike a warrior pose on your next business trip!

Fitness-conscious travelers staying at Kimpton Hotels’ boutique properties are doing jumping jacks of joy. The hotel chain now offers an individualized yoga program in EVERY room that includes: the yoga television channel, in-room Gaiam yoga mats (free of charge), and extra towels/flavored waters/fresh fruit and nuts delivered to the room by request.
Guests can even request the “Roll-Out Service,” where a Kimpton staff member will come to your room and roll out your yoga mat for you, and make sure you have everything you need for a comfortable workout.
“We know that some travel – particularly for business – can suck the life out of you. Our point of view is that it doesn't have to, so we’re making it easy for our guests to work in some restorative activity,” says Mike DeFrino, executive vice president of hotel operations at Kimpton, says, “We’re not yoga experts. Some of us can’t even touch our toes. But we think that incorporating exercise in the form of something like stretches or push-ups are a good idea on the road.”
In line with this new venture, The Hotel Wilshire, a Kimpton property in Los Angeles, will offer aqua yoga in the rooftop lap pool this summer. Best of all, if you have forgotten your workout clothes – and what business traveler hasn’t? – The Hotel Wilshire has partnered with trendy fashion designer Lululemon to loan you the necessary attire.

San Francisco-based Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants, a collection of boutique hotels and chef-driven restaurants in the U.S. is an acknowledged industry pioneer, and was the first to bring the boutique hotel concept to America.

Leaf your troubles behind in this treehouse spa
The Rainforest Spa at the Jalousie Plantation Sugar Beach, St Lucia, LITERALLY goes out on a limb for its guests.
The 9,427-square-foot spa costs $2 million to complete, and includes six treehouse treatment gazebos, one wet treatment room with manicure and pedicure facilities, an earthen steam room warmed by volcanic spring water, a beauty room and hairdressing salon and an open-air spa relaxation gazebo suspended over running water at the base of the Petit Piton.
Product lines used at the new Rainforest Spa are wholly organic and treatment-oriented to achieve maximum results.
The Jalousie Plantation Sugar Beach also offers all-natural rituals the spa has become known for, including the resort’s signature Sulphur Seduction, which harnesses all of the benefits of the nearby Sulphur Springs and volcano, as well as the all-natural body scrubs and wraps which utilize fruits and herbs grown right on the estate.
Another specialty of the spa is the all-new bamboo massage. This deep tissue treatment is based on the techniques of Swedish massage but utilizes bamboo sticks in relaxing and soothing movements. The three sizes of bamboo are used in this treatment to perfectly fit the body’s contours and provide a deep revitalizing treatment. Lotus flower is used for purity and perfection, water lily for softening and soothing.
Widely regarded as the island’s spiritual heart, the lush foliage and soaring mountain vistas of Val des Pitons provide the perfect backdrop for St. Lucia spas.
